About Lance Sinclair
Lance Sinclair heads up Success Academy™, an affiliate company of Direct Energy family of brands and an award winning, on-demand training resource for HVAC, plumbing and electrical service professionals.
Prior to joining the organization in 2004, Sinclair worked in training and operations at companies in the residential service space including as director of training and development at ARS Rescue Rooter and director of training and safety at TruGreen.
At Direct Energy/Success Academy, Sinclair is responsible for the development, design, delivery, and evaluation of training and education for the franchise system consisting of instructor-led training, web-based training, and online, self-directed training. Direct Energy Services is one of North America’s largest home services providers and offers a wide range of services to homes including HVAC, plumbing and electrical services through our service brands of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing®, Mister Sparky® electric, and One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning®.
Sinclair has been instrumental in the accolades that Success Academy has achieved, most notably, Leadership Excellence and Development (LEAD) awards in 2016/17 from Training Magazine’s annual Training Conference & Expo.
Sinclair focuses on optimizing employee productivity and company results through a human performance improvement methodology. His articles on operational excellence business management, are regularly published, including a recent article, “The Problem Isn’t Turnover; It’s Retention,” which was published in HVACR Business.
Sinclair earned his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. He resides in Houston, Texas.
