Communication Breakthrough

Communication is everything; it is crucial in building strong personal and professional relationships. Whether you are in sales, management, operations, customer service, HR or a leadership role, the ability to communicate effectively is essential to success. Communication is about more than just words; it is about understanding the impact and importance of non-verbal signals and clues, recognizing those clues, and adapting your style accordingly in order to most effectively communicate with those around you.

About Adam Thompson

As A Coach

Adam has a passion for helping individuals and companies maximize their potential, and their opportunities. Adam works with clients to find their versions of success, whether that means a more profitable business, more time with family and friends, a clearer vision for the direction and future of the business, a more engaged, cohesive and empowered team, a path toward a successful exit from the business . . . or all of the above. By combining FocalPoint’s world-class and proven content with his real-world experience and his clients’ knowledge of their business, his clients identify and solve the issues that keep them up at night—such as leadership, management, delegation, sales, marketing, productivity, growth, and decision-making challenges—always with an eye toward ROI.

In The Corporate World

Adam has sold products and managed teams in industries ranging from commercial-grade power tools to media to cleaning services. His career includes sales, sales management, operations management, and general management roles with large organizations like Black and Decker as well as entrepreneurial startups and family-run businesses. At each stop, Adam achieved and exceeded goals for himself and his team, while at the same time hiring and developing talented teams and managing profitable business units.

In The Community

Adam lives in Minneapolis, MN with his wife Carol, and their two children, Jack and Maggie. He is a passionately-involved member at Wayzata Community Church, where he recently served as Church Moderator. He is an active volunteer and strong advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association, where he serves on the Revenue and Support Committee, he sits on the board for Blue Water  Theater Company, a local children’s theater, and is an active member of the Wayzata Rotary Club. When he isn’t working or volunteering, you can find him coaching baseball in the summer and downhill skiing and basketball in the winter, on a boat on Lake Minnetonka with family and friends, or rocking weddings and gala events as a lead singer for PowerTap, a local cover band.
